Zahra Shams, a law student at the Firdosi University in Mashhad was arrested in her home by security forces on May 6.
According to reports, 13 days after the arrest of this 21-year-old student and in light of the fact that she was not involved in any political activities, relevant officials have still no explained the reason behind her arrest.
Zahra Shams was only able to make two short phone calls from prison and has been deprived of visits and the right to a lawyer.
She is the sister of Fatemeh Shams, who is the wife of Mohammad-Reza Jalayi Pour (was in Mir Hossein Moussavi’s election staff) and according to those close to Shams, her arrest is a political act to put pressure on her family

بازداشت زهرا شمس، از دانشجويان دانشگاه فردوسي مشهد
زهرا شمس، دانشجوي رشته ي حقوق دانشگاه فردوسي مشهد، 16 اردي بهشت ماه در منزل پدري اش در مشهد توسط نيروهاي امنيتي بازداشت شد.
بنا به اطلاع گزارشگران هرانا، پس از گذشت سيزده روز که از بازداشت اين دانشجوي 21 ساله ي دانشگاه فردوسي مشهد مي گذرد، با توجه به اينکه وي تا به حال فعاليت سياسي نداشته، هيچ توضيحي درباره ي علت دستگيري وي از سوي مسئولين مربوطه داده نشده است.
زهرا شمس در طي اين مدت تنها موفق به برقراري دو تماس کوتاه تلفني از زندان شده و از هرگونه حق ملاقات و داشتن وکيل محروم بوده است.
گفتني است وي خواهر فاطمه شمس، همسر محمدرضا جلايي پور (در ستاد موسوي بود كه دستگير شده بود) است و به عقيده ي نزديکان خانم شمس اين دستگيري نوعي گروکشي سياسي براي تحت فشار قرار دادن اطرافيان ايشان است. (هرانا – 29/2/89)
