Imminent execution of 4 Kurdish inmates from Iran’s prisons

Four religious Kurdish inmates named Hamed Ahmadi, 32, son of Habibollah, Jamshid and Jahangir Dehghani, 28 and 27, sons of Khodarahm and Kamal Malali, 29, are facing execution. These 4 Kurdish inmates were arrested in 2009 and put under interrogation and torture in the MOIS detention center in Sanandaj. (Kurdpa 12 September 2013)

چهار زنداني مذهبي کُرد به نام‌هاي "حامد احمدي ٣٢ ساله فرزند حبيب‌الله، جمشيد و جهانگير دهقاني ٢٨ و ٢٧ ساله فرزند خدا رحم و کمال ملايي ٢٩ ساله در آستانه اجراي حکم اعدام قرار دارند. اين چهار زنداني کُرد در سال ١٣٨٨ بازداشت و مدت ١٠ روز در بازداشتگاه اداره‌ي اطلاعات سنندج تحت بازجويي و شکنجه بودند.

Larijani sanctions violation of human rights in Iran

“Unfortunately now a days westerners use human rights in their publicity and media as a tool against the countries which are not aligned with their policies,” stated Ayatollah Amoli Larijani among the members of the Judiciary’s human rights headquarter.
Pointing to the declaration of human rights, Larijani indicated that the great challenge of the declaration is its superficial interpretation of ‘human dignity’ which shows philosophical and theoretical incoherence in western concept of human rights and added: “Under the name of human rights, westerners are imposing serious cruelty and injustice on many nations but they mirror untrue facts in their reports on human rights. The western countries protest against our measures regarding dangerous and armed villains while they cannot tolerate such criminals themselves.” (Mehr news agency 23 July 2013)

Deputy chief of Khuzistan’s Department of Justice: Those who eat in public will be punished

“According to the Islamic Penal Law those who eat in public will be punished. If SSF Bureau for Facilities observes any violation at food stores, restaurants and similar trades, they will be the subject of legal punishment,” stated Mullah Abdol Hamid Amanat Behbahani, deputy chief of Khuzistan’s Department of Justice.
He asked the police force to both warn those who eat in their vehicles and give their license number to judiciary organs. (The General Department of Justice in Khuzistan 10 July 2013)


حجت الاسلام عبدالحميد امانت بهبهاني- معاون رئيس کل دادگستري استان خوزستان هشدار داد: با افرادي که در ملاء عام اقدام به روزه خواري کنند، طبق قانون مجازات اسلامي برخورد مي شود. اغذيه فروشي ها، رستوران ها و مشاغل مشابه در صورت تخلف و گزارش اداره اماکن نيروي انتظامي، با آن ها برخورد قانوني صورت مي گيرد. وي از پليس راهنمايي و رانندگي خواست تا ضمن تذکر به افرادي که در خودروها اقدام به روزه خواري مي کنند، شماره خودرو را نيز به مراجع قضايي اعلام کنند.

Death penalty for the suspect

When Maysam killed a man on the dining table who was the suspect of his brother’s murder, he was sentenced to death and his file was transferred to the ‘Branch for Execution of Decrees’.
After Maysam protested his sentence the case was revised by the Supreme Court and the judges approved the death sentence.
If Maysam is not successful in having the consent of the parents of the man he killed, he will be hanged. (Mehr news agency 24 July 2013)

Arrest for harming a Bassij element

A man named Saman who shot death a Bassij element in one of the villages of Izeh (southern Iran) and was under pursuit by Hormozgan detectives since a while ago, was arrested in a swift operation after his track was found in Qeshm Island and Bandar Abbas.
“After the accused confessed to the murder, he was transferred to the location of the crime for further investigation,” said the chief of Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) detective force. (Mehr news agency 24 July 2013)

دستگيري به جرم آسيب رساندن به يك بسيجي

عامل كشتن جوان بسيجي در جنوب کشور، در عمليات غافلگيرانه کارآگاهان پليس آگاهي دستگير شد. چندي قبل ماموران پليس آگاهي هرمزگان, دستگيري يک قاتل فراري را آغاز کردند. بررسي پرونده نشان مي داد، عامل جنايت به نام سامان با شليک تير شاه کرم از بسيجيان را در يکي از روستاهاي ايذه به قتل رسانده و متواري شده بود.
تيم جنايي با رديابي هاي متهم فراري رد او را در جزيره قشم و بندرعباس کشف کردند. سرهنگ حسين اصلحي، رئيس پليس آگاهي استان هرمزگان با اعلام اين خبر گفت: متهم با اعتراف اوليه به قتل، به محل جنايت منتقل شد تا تحقيقات از او ادامه يابد. (خبرگزاري مهر 2/5/92)

Writer and poet summoned by MOIS

Mr. Babak Salimizadeh, writer and poet, was summoned to the pursuit office of MOIS on July 7th and 15th by security agents.
Although MR. Salimizadeh has acquired rank 22 in the exam for studying at doctorate level the agents have told him in their calls, he will not be permitted to attend any university. (Radio Zamaneh 22 July 2013)

Dervish minority prisoners are deprived of medical treatment outside prison

The head of branch 15 or Revolution Court, Judge Salavati continues his illegal interference in the medical treatment of political prisoners and the prisoners of conscious.
- On July 16th, Farshid Yadollahi, a lawyer of Gonabadi Dervishes had a dental appointment. The appointment was coordinated and ordered by Tehran’s Prosecutor Office, but Judge Salavati prevented his transfer. Upon the personal directive of Salavati the Dervish prisoners have to wear prison uniform and have to be handcuffed when referring to medical centers.
- On Saturday July 13th, when Afshin Karam Poor and Omid Behrooze refused from complying to Judge Salavati’s illegal order they were not transferred to their medical centers.
- On Sunday, July 14th, Farshid Yadollahi was not deployed for medical treatment.
- On Tuesday morning, July 16th as the most recent case, Hamid Reza Moradi a Dervish’s rights activist was not deployed to Shohada Hospital in Tajrish (northern Tehran) under the order of Salavati. This imprisoned Dervish is suffering from embolism as well as disc prolapse in his back. Although according to his doctors his is at risk of limb amputation it is for 8 months that his treatment has stopped under the order of Judge Salavati. (Majzoban Noor Website 17 July 2013)

جلوگيري از انتقال دراويش زنداني به مراكز درماني
دخالت هاي غير قانوني قاضي صلواتي رئيس شعبه ۱۵ دادگاه انقلاب در روند درماني زندانيان عقيدتي-سياسي همچنان ادامه دارد
روز 25تيرماه با هماهنگي و دستور دادستاني تهران, قرار بر انتقال فرشيد يداللهي وکيل زنداني دراويش گنابادي جهت پيگيري وادامه درمان به دندان پزشکي بود که به دستور قاضي صلواتي از اعزام وي جلوگيري بعمل آمد. صلواتي, دراويش زنداني را مکلف به استفاده از لباس ويژه زندانيان و دستبند در اعزام به مراکز درماني كرد.دصبح روز شنبه ۲۲ تيرماه نيز افشين کرم پور و اميد بهروزي به دليل عدم تمکين در برابر اين دستور غير قانوني قاضي صلواتي به مراکز درماني اعزام نشدند. همچنين صبح يکشنبه ۲۳ تيرماه فرشيد يدالهي از وکلاي زنداني به مراکز درماني اعزام نشد.
در آخرين مورد، حميدرضا مرادي از فعالان زنداني حقوق دراويش صبح روز سه شنبه ۲۵ تيرماه بايد جهت پيگيري امور درماني به بيمارستان شهداي تجريش مراجعه مي‌کرد که به دستور صلواتي از اعزام وي جلوگيري شد.
اين درويش زنداني مبتلا به بيماري انسداد عروقي و ديسک کمر است و در شرايط جسمي نامساعدي به سر مي برد و به گفته پزشکان معالج در معرض خطر قطع عضو قرار دارد. وي با اين وجود, هشت ماه است به دستور قاضي صلواتي درمانش متوقف مانده است. (سايت مجذوبان نور 26/4/92)

At Least Two Prisoners Hanged in Yazd, Iran

HRANA News Agency – Two prisoners convicted of drug trafficking were hanged in
Yazd’s Central Prison.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Jokar Javid and Gholam Alizadeh, two citizens from Dehdash, convicted of drug trafficking were hanged in Yazd’s central prison, yesterday.
Iranian state media did not reported these executions yet. So, there may be more
executions and no exact information about them.
Javid Jokar, has four more brothers on death row and they will be executed soon.

No news from arrested Journalist after one week

HRANA News Agency– It is more than one week without any news from Sasan Aghaie the arrested journalist who has been banned to have visitor.
Sasan Aghaie arrested by the invasion of the security forces on January 27th of 2013 at E'temad newspaper office. Since a week ago he had not exchanged any call with family and when his family tried to visit him on February 8th of 2013, the prison officials said that Sasan is banned to have visitor.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA),  quoted from Advar News, the last call between Sasan Aghaie and his family exchanged last Monday and since that time there is no news about Sasan's condition which worried his family too much.

8 Prisoners Among Them One Woman Hanged in Shiraz Today- Executions Carried Out One Day Prior To The Scheduled Date

Iran Human Rights, February 19, 2013: Eight prisoners were hanged in the Adelabad prison of Shiraz early this morning. According to the official website of the Iranian judiciary in the Fars Province, 8 prisoners among them one woman were hanged this morning. The prisoners were all convicted of drug related charges said the report.

The prisoners were identified as "Lotfollah J.", "Noor Mohammad Sh.", "Abbas N.", "Hossein A.", "Parinaz M." (woman), "Hamid A.", "Abdolvahed M." and "Ali T."

URGENT: 12 Prisoners Scheduled for Hanging in One Day- - IHR Urges International Community to Stop the Executions

Iran Human Rights, February 18: According to reports from reliable sources in Iran, 12 prisoners are scheduled to be executed in Shiraz Prison (south of Iran) on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. According to the same sources, the prisoners have been sentenced to death for drug-related charges.

On Saturday and Sunday, four prisoners were hanged in public in Shiraz.
Iran Human Rights (IHR) urges the international community to help stop these executions. Based on cases IHR has received, most prisoners convicted of drug-related charges in Iran have confessed under torture and been subjected to unfair trials. More specifically, IHR urges the United Nations and all countries cooperating with Iran on the "war on drugs" to do what they can to stop these executions.

Iran Supreme Court upholds 4 death sentences in $2.6 billion fraud case

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran’s state prosecutor says the country’s Supreme Court has upheld death sentences against four people linked to a $2.6 billion bank fraud described as the biggest financial swindle in Iran’s history.

Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejehei says the four were convicted of being “corrupt on earth” for “disrupting” the country’s economy. He says the court has ordered the verdict to be carried out but no date has been set.

Ejehei is quoted by the official IRNA news agency as saying that two banking officials have been sentenced to life in prison while 19 others, almost all of them senior government officials, were given prison terms ranging from 2 to 20 years.
Their trial last year raised questions about corruption at senior levels in Iran’s tightly controlled economy.

Seven Executions In Iran: Four Executions In Public

Iran Human Rights, February 17, 2013: Seven prisoners were hanged in the cities of Arak and Shiraz according to the official Iranian sources.

Three prisoners hanged in Arak (Central Iran):

According to the official Iranian news agency IRNA three prisoners were hanged in the prison of Arak early Sunday morning February 17. The prisoners were identified as "A.B." (31) convicted of buying and possession of 1370 grams of Shisheh, "M. S." (26) convicted of possession of 1500 grams of heroin, and "A. F." (47) convicted of possession of 1382 grams of opium, 450 grams of shisheh and 390 grams of heroin, said the report.

Iran must ensure an effective investigation into Sattar Beheshti’s death in custody

The Supreme Leader must ensure that a thorough and impartial investigation is carried out into this and all other deaths in custody. These should be conducted in a manner that complies with international standards for such investigations.

Shabnam and Farzad Madadzadeh Banned from Visiting Each Other

HRANA News Agency – It's one year that Shabnam and Farzad Madadzadeh, brother and sister in Evin and Rajaishahr prisons are banned from visiting each other.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Shabnam and Farzad Madadzadeh with five-year sentences can visit each other in the frame of Iranian Prisons' Law, but it's one year that they are banned from visiting by the judiciary authorities.

Shabnam Madadzadeh and her brother Farzad Madadzadeh were arrested in February , 2009 and after one year of temporary arrests were sentenced to five years in prison in Evin and Rajaei Shahr Prisons.

Shabnam Madadzadeh is a member of Tahkim Vahdat, the union for Islamic associations of university students across the country. It is the largest student-dependent organization critical of the [Iranian] government.

Iran: Brother of prominent filmmaker arrested

Behrouz Ghobadi, brother of internationally acclaimed Iranian film maker, Bahman Ghobadi, was arrested on 4 November 2012 by men in plain clothes, believed to belong to the Ministry of Intelligence. He is reportedly being held in a Ministry of Intelligence detention centre, placing him at risk of torture or other ill-treatment. Behrouz Ghobadi, father of a newborn baby boy and a member of the Kurdish minority in Iran , was arrested in the early hours of the morning of 4 November. He was in a taxi driving from Sanandaj, the capital of the north-western Kordestan province, to a Tehran airport. Plain-clothes men, who were reportedly following him, stopped his car and arrested him around 15 kilometres outside Sanandaj. Judicial officials claim that they had an arrest warrant but the reasons for his arrest do not appear to have been disclosed to his family or lawyer.
