Iran arrests all beggars in Tehran and confiscates 90% of their money

The Assistant Head of the Social Services of the Welfare and Social Cooperation Organization said regarding the fine set for beggars, “Ninety percent of the money they have with them will be confiscated”.
Reza Jagiri said that the plan to gather beggars was carried out and stressed that “900 beggars were gathered and transferred to centers”.
“Their judicial sentences will be issued and the necessary actions will be made to implement them”.
“In some of the sentences, the person was acquitted and in some of the cases a fine will be set”, Jagiri added…
“In most cases, beggars once again go back [to the streets] in the city, but we will act in a way so as to make conditions insecure for them”.

معاون خدمات اجتماعي سازمان رفاه و مشاركت اجتماعي در خصوص جريمه متكديان، گفت: 90 درصد پولي كه به همراه دارند را از آنها اخذ مي‌شود.

رضا جاگيري , معاون خدمات اجتماعي سازمان رفاه و مشاركت اجتماعي با بيان اينكه طرح ضربتي نيز براي جمع‌آوري متكديان داشته‌ايم، گفت: 900 متكدي را جمع‌آوري و به مراكز منتقل كرده‌ايم احكام قضايي آنها صادر و پيگيري‌هاي لازم براي اجراي حكم انجام مي‌شود.

معاون خدمات اجتماعي سازمان رفاه و مشاركت اجتماعي اضافه كرد: در برخي از حكم ها فرد تبرئه شده و در برخي نيز جريمه در نظر گرفته مي‌شود...

جاگيري ادامه داد: در بيشتر موارد متكديان دوباره به سطح شهر برمي‌گردند اما به گونه‌اي عمل مي‌كنيم كه شرايط براي آنها ناامن باشد و كمتر اقدام به تكدي گري كنند. (فارس, عصر ايران – 19/5/90)
