74 year old political prisoner threatened to be thrown in solitary for singing banned national anthem

Political prisoner Hossein Shahriari who is detained in cellblock 4, Hall 10 in Rajayi Shahr (Gohardasht) Prison in Karaj was threatened for singing an anthem in prison.
According to reports, this prisoner has gathered political and normal prisoners twice to sing ‘Oh Iran’ (banned national anthem) and ‘My School Friend’ and was threatened by prison officials that the third time he would be thrown in solitary for 45 days.
This 74 year old political prisoner was arrested last year on charges of membership in the Pan-Iranian Party and has been sentenced to 18 months of prison.

تهديد يک زنداني سياسي به دليل خواندن سرود
حسين شهرياري زنداني سياسي محبوس در بند 4 سالن 10 زندان رجايي شهر کرج به دليل خواندن سرود در زندان تهديد شد.
بنا به اطلاع گزارشگران هرانا، اين زنداني که تا کنون دوبار با جمع کردن زندانيان سياسي و عادي اقدام به خواندن سرود "اي ايران" و "يار دبستاني" نموده است از سوي مسئولين تهديد شد که در بار سوم به مدت 45 روز به انفرادي منتقل خواهد شد.
حسين شهرياري 74 ساله به اتهام عضويت در حزب پان ايرانيست سال گذشته بازداشت و به 18 ماه حبس تعزيري محکوم شده است. (هرانا – 10/8/89)
