Iran's supreme court has overturned a death sentence handed down to Yusef Nadarkhani, a Christian pastor accused of apostasy for having converted from Islam, his lawyer told AFP on Sunday.
“The supreme court has annulled the death sentence and sent the case back to the court in Rasht (his hometown), asking the accused to repent," Mohammad Ali Dadkhah said.
Nadarkhani, now 32, converted from Islam to Christianity at the age of 19 and became a pastor of a small evangelical community called the Church of Iran.
He was arrested in October 2009 and condemned to death for apostasy under Iran's Islamic Sharia laws, which however allow for such verdicts to be overturned if the convicted person "repents" and renounces his conversion.
After his conviction was upheld by an appeal court in Gilan province in September 2010, Nadarkhani turned to the supreme court. His wife, who was initially sentenced to life imprisonment, was released on appeal.
The lawyer said the verdict had been read out to him on the telephone and that he needed to travel to Rasht, where Nadarkhani is being held, to see the ruling for himself.
Dadkhah said he himself was sentenced on Sunday by a Tehran court to nine years in jail and a 10-year ban on practicing law or teaching at university for "actions and propaganda against the Islamic regime.’
The lawyer said he had been criticised for having cooperated with the Centre for the Defence of Human Rights, an organisation founded by Nobel peace laureate Shirin Ebadi, as well as for giving interviews to foreign radio stations.
"I have 20 days to lodge an appeal," he said. (AFP – Jul. 4, 2011)
Iran arrests two Christian converts in Yazd
Christians Vali Zahmatkesh and Mostafa Bushehri were arrested in Yazd.
These two Christians were arrested in their homes on June 25 in Yazd and are still in detention.
According to reports, 32 year old Vali Zahmatkesh became a Christian in 2008 and was transferred to Yazd because of his job near the end of that year. (Committee of Human Rights Reporters – June. 5, 2011)
Iran closes down five ceremonial halls for hosting mixed parties in Gorgan
The Manager of the Public Places Supervision Department said that five halls that hosted mixed parties in Gorgan were shut down and sealed off.
“These units were closed down in line with the plan to for the advancement of moral security and dealing firmly with offending [stores] and halls”, Hossein-Ali Tajari said.
“During this operation a number of offenders and those who had participated in the party who had anti-Islamic and unsuitable appearances were arrested”, he added.
The Manager of the Public Places Supervision Department said that those who were arrested were referred to the judiciary. (Mehr state-run News Agency – Jul. 6, 2011)
Greater Tehran District SSF Commander says 70 retailers of indecent clothing were shut down

The commander of the State Security Forces in the Greater Tehran District said that 70 retailers that sold indecent clothing were sealed off and shut down during an operation on Thursday by the police in the capital.
“In the ongoing implementation of the Intensifying Moral Security Plan, Tehran Police sealed off 70 importers and producers of unconventional and indecent clothing in Jomhouri Street”, Hossein Sajedi Nia said adding that the police is trying to deal with the root of improper clothing.
“A large number of smuggled men and women’s attire with special and indecent logos were confiscated from these centers”, he said. (ISNA state-run News Agency – Jul. 8, 2011)

The Commander of the Tehran State Security Forces said that the ‘Intensifying Moral Security’ Plan was decisively carried out in the main shopping centers and stores.
In the continuing plan of ‘Intensifying Moral Security’, police agents dealt with those who were anti-chaste in one of the largest shopping centers in the capital [Tehran].
According to reports, this plan which started on June 15 this year in the various regions of the capital including squares, highways and the metro was implemented in the main shopping centers from yesterday.
Agents of the Tehran Moral Police were dispatched to various sectors of the largest shops in west Tehran on Saturday evening and dealt with those who were anti-vise in addition to giving them verbal notices and guidance.
In the implementation of this plan in highways, motorcycle patrols also dealt and gave notices to improperly veiled passengers and motorists. (ISNA state-run News Agency – Jul. 3, 2011)
Tehran Chief of Police: women banned from coffee shops from July 11

The Chief of Police of the Greater Tehran District said, “Women will be banned from entering tea shops and coffee shops from July 11 and offenders will be dealt with according to the law”.
“After requests from citizens and families, women will be banned from entering tea shops [coffee shops] that offer water pipes from July 11 in line with the plan to deal with social irregularities and according to article 27 of the law”, Hossein Sajedi Nia said.
“This is applied to forty percent of tea shops in northern Tehran which [also sell traditional food]”, he stressed. (Aftab state-run website – Jul. 4, 2011)
Jailed human rights banned from seeing children in visit
Evin Prison officials refused to allow political prisoner Nasrin Sotudeh to see her children in person during visitation hours on Sunday.
Her husband Reza Khandan said that she last saw her children in person 11 days ago. He also said that this jailed lawyer has announced that if she is not allowed to see her children on a regular basis, she will refuse to have her visits from behind a glass partition in protest to this measure. Female political prisoner refused medical treatment and transferred to insane asylum
According to reports, political prisoner Zahra Jabari is suffering from a severe heart condition and rheumatism and according to a letter by the Medical Commission, confirmed by the Medical Examiner, which was submitted to Tehran Prosecutor Abbas Jafari Dolat Abadi, she is to be transferred to a hospital to receive treatment for her heart condition and rheumatism.
Agents of the Ministry of Intelligence who make the decisions behind the scenes about the fate of political prisoners transferred Jabari to the Amin Abad Insane Asylum in Shahre Rey instead to put her under physical and mental pressure and make her already poor health worse. The Ministry of Intelligence has ordered that her hands and legs be shackled and that four agents watch her on a 24 hour basis.
Political prisoner Zahra Jabari had warned her interrogators that if she was not transferred to a hospital for her ailments she would go on a dry hunger strike for an unlimited amount of time. After these warnings, she was transferred to the Rozbeh Insane Asylum. Since her transfer to the asylum on June 18, she has been banned from seeing her son and family. Top cleric compares ‘improperly veiled’ women to animals

The temporary head of Friday’s Prayers in Tehran said that the philosophy of the hijab [modest covering for women or the veil] is not a personal matter and is considered a social matter.
“Improper veiling or a lack of the veil is a violation of the rights of the people and the holy system of the Islamic Republic cannot sit silently in the face of the violation of people’s rights”, he said…
Ayatollah Seyed Ahmad Khatami said, “Chastity is one of the human characteristics of a human being. In the world of animals, there is no such thing as the hijab. نقض حقوق اقليتهاي مذهبي و قومي
لغو حکم اعدام يوسف ندرخاني، نوکيش مسيحي، به شرط توبه
به گزارش خبرگزاري فرانسه، محمد علي دادخواه، وکيل دادگستري به اين خبرگزاري گفته است که ديوان عالي ضمن ابطال حکم اعدام يوسف ندرخاني، کشيش نوکيش مسيحي، و ارجاع دوباره پرونده به دادگاه رشت، از آقاي ندرخواني درخواست کرده تا از مسيحيت توبه کند.
آقاي دادخواه به اين خبرگزاري گفته است که از طريق تماس تلفني از صدور اين حکم مطلع شده و قصد دارد براي اطمينان خاطر به رشت، محل نگهداري آقاي ندرخاني، سفر کند.
کمپين بينالمللي حقوق بشر در ايران نيز به نقل از محمد علي دادخواه نوشته است که حکم دادگاه بدوي روز سهشنبه، هفتم تيرماه از سوي ديوان عالي کشور در قم به شرط توبه آقاي ندرخاني، نقض شده است.
آقاي دادخواه تأکيد کرده که به موجب اين حکم اگر آقاي ندرخاني توبه نکند، پرونده بار ديگر در دادگاه رشت به جريان خواهد افتاد.
يوسف ندرخاني که مدتها پيش و در سن ۱۹ سالگي از دين اسلام خارج شده و به مسيحيت روي آورده، تا پيش از بازداشت، کشيش جماعتي از مسيحيان اهل رشت بود که تعدادشان به نوشته اين کمپين به ۴۰۰ تن ميرسيد.
آقاي ندرخاني پس از آنکه شهريورماه ۸۹ بازداشت شد، به خروج از اسلام، تبليغ مسيحيت و در نهايت ارتداد متهم و به اعدام محکوم شد.
هر چند قانون اساسي جمهوري اسلامي، آئين مسيحيت را به رسميت شناخته است، اما در سالهاي گذشته مقامهاي جمهوري اسلامي محدوديتهاي گستردهاي را براي اقليتهاي مذهبي و به ويژه مسيحيان در ايران اعمال کردهاند که از آن جمله ميتوان به بازداشت شماري از کشيشان مسيحي و محاکمه آنان اشاره کرد. ولي زحمتکش و مصطفي بوشهري، از ايمانداران مسيحي در شهرستان يزد بازداشت شدند.
اين دو شهروند مسيحي، در تاريخ چهارم تيرماه ۹۰ در منزل شخصي در يزد بازداشت شدند و هم اکنون در بازداشت به سر مي برند.
به گزارش«خانه حقوق بشر ايران»، ولي زحمتکش شهروند ۳۲ ساله است که در سال ۸۷ به آيين مسيحيت گرويده است و در اواخر همان سال به علت شرايط شغلي به يزد منتقل شده است. (كميته گزارشگران حقوق بشر – 14/4/90)

پنج سالن برگزاري جشنهاي مختلط در گرگان پلمپ شدند
مدير نظارت بر اماکن عمومي گلستان گفت: با پيگيريهاي مأموران پليس نظارت براماکن عمومي استان پنج سالن که اقدام به برگزاري جشنهاي مختلط در گرگان ميکردند، پلمپ شدند.
حسينعلي تجري در گفتگو با خبرنگار مهر افزود: اين واحدها در راستاي طرح ارتقاء امنيت اخلاقي و برخورد جدي با متصديان واحدهاي صنفي متخلف و سالنهاي برگزاري جشن غيرمجاز بسته شدند.
وي اظهار داشت: طي اين عمليات تعدادي از متخلفان و شرکت کنندگان در جشن که داراي ظاهري زننده و به دور از شئونات اسلامي بودند دستگير شد.

فرمانده انتظامي تهران بزرگ از پلمپ 70 عمده فروشي لباسهاي مبتذل و مستهجن در عمليات روز پنجشنبه پليس پايتخت خبر داد.
سردار حسين ساجدينيا روز جمعه در گفتوگو با خبرنگار «حوادث» خبرگزاري دانشجويان ايران (ايسنا)، با اشاره به اينكه پليس در تلاش است تا با ريشه بدپوششي به صورت گسترده برخورد كند گفت: ماموران پليس تهران در ادامه اجراي طرح تشديد امنيت اخلاقي روز پنجشنبه 70 واردكننده و توليدكننده عمده لباسهاي نامتعارف، مبتذل و مستهجن را در خيابان جمهوري پلمپ كردند.
وي با اشاره به اينكه اين فروشگاهها اقدام به فروش لباسهايي با تصاوير مستهجن ميكردند افزود: از اين مراكز تعداد بسيار زيادي لباسهاي قاچاق زنانه و مردانه با علائم خاص و مستهجن كشف و ضبط شده است. (ايسنا – 17/4/90)

اجراي جدي طرح «تشديد امنيت اخلاقي» در فروشگاهها و مراكز عمده خريد
در ادامه طرح «تشديد امنيت اخلاقي»، ماموران پليس پايتخت عصر شنبه در اقدامي ضربتي با عفافستيزان در بزرگترين فروشگاه پايتخت برخورد كردند.
به گزارش خبرنگار «حوادث» خبرگزاري دانشجويان ايران (ايسنا)، طرح «تشديد امنيت اخلاقي» كه از 25 خرداد ماه سال جاري در مناطق مختلف پايتخت اعم از ميادين، بزرگراهها، مترو و ... آغاز شده است از روز گذشته در مراكز عمده خريد نيز به مرحله اجرا درآمد.
بر اين اساس ماموران پليس امنيت اخلاقي تهران عصر روز شنبه با حضور در بخشهاي مختلف بزرگترين فروشگاه پايتخت در غرب تهران ضمن تذكرهاي لساني و ارشادي با عفافستيزان برخورد كردند.
در كنار اين طرح در بزرگراههاي پايتخت نيز گشتهاي موتورسوار طرح «تشديد امنيت اخلاقي» به رانندگان يا سرنشينان بدحجاب خودروها تذكر داده و يا در حال برخورد هستند. (ايسنا – 12/4/90)
رئيس پليس تهران: ورود زنان به قهوهخانهها از 20 تير ممنوع است
آفتاب: رئيس پليس تهران بزرگ گفت: ورود زنان به چايخانهها و قهوهخانهها از 20 تيرماه ممنوع است و با متخلفان برابر قانون برخورد ميشود.
سردار حسين ساجدينيا اظهار داشت: در پي در خواست شهروندان و گلايه خانوادهها با هماهنگي مراجع قضايي از 20 تيرماه در راستاي طرح برخورد با ناهنجاريهاي اجتماعي ورود خانمها به چايخانهها که در آنها قليان عرضه ميشود برابر ماده 27 قانون صنفي ممنوع است.
رئيس پليس تهران تاکيد کرد: 40 درصد چايخانههاي شمال تهران که با عنوان ديزي سرا فعاليت ميکنند شامل طرح ممنوعيت ميشوند. (آفتاب – 13/4/90)
جلوگيري از ملاقات حضوري نسرين ستوده با فرزندانش
سايت تغيير براي برابري: مسئولان زندان اوين روز يکشنبه از ملاقات حضوري نسرين ستوده با فرزندانش جلوگيري کردند.
رضا خندان, همسر نسرين ستوده ضمن اعلام اين خبر گفت که از آخرين ملاقات حضوري نسرين با بچه ها 11 روز مي گذرد. او همچنين گفت که نسرين ستوده اعلام کرده که اگر امکان ملاقات حضوري با فرزندانش بطور منظم ممکن نباشد, به نشانه اعتراض به ملاقات کابيني هم نخواهد رفت.
آقاي خندان گفت که از يکي از مسئولان سوال کرده است که آيا آنها کودک 3 ساله اي را اينطور شکنجه مي دهند تا مادرش به کار نکرده اعتراف کند؟(سايت تغيير براي برابري – 14/4/90)
شرايط حاد جسمي زنداني سياسي زهرا جباري و نگهداري وي در بيمارستان رواني
بنابه گزارشات رسيده به "فعالين حقوق بشر و دمکراسي در ايران" زنداني سياسي زهرا جباري که از ناراحتي حاد بيماري قلبي و رماتيسم که در زندان به آن مبتلا شده است رنج مي برد و طبق معاينات کمسيون پزشکي و تاييد پزشک قانوني که طي نامۀ کتبي در اواسط فروردين ماه به عباس جعفري دولت آبادي دادستان تهران ارسال شده است خواستار انتقال خانم جباري به يکي از بيمارستانها براي درمان ناراحتيهاي قلبي و رماتيسم وي شدند.
اما بازجويان وزارت اطلاعات که در پشت صحنه تصميم گيرندگان اصلي در مورد سرنوشت زندانيان سياسي در هر محله مي باشند بجاي اينکه زنداني سياسي زهرا جباري را به بيمارستان جهت درمان ناراحتي قلبي و رماتيسم اعزام کنند او را به بيمارستان رواني امين آباد شهر ري منتقل مي کنند تا تحت فشار روحي و جسمي قرار دادن و وضعيت جسمي وي را وخيم تر نمايند.بازجويان (شکنجه گران) وزارت اطلاعات دستور دادن که به پاها و دستانش پابند و دست بند بزنند و تحت نظارت 4 مامور خود بطور شبانه روزي قرار دهند و از اين طريق فشارهاي روحي را عليه او تشديد نمايند.
زنداني سياسي زهرا جباري به آنها هشدار داده بود که در صورت عدم انتقال به بيمارستاني که در ارتباط با بيماري وي و عدم رسيدگي به بيماريش ، او اقدام به اعتصاب غذاي خشک نامحدود خواهد زد. پس از اين هشدارها اين بار او را به بيمارستان رواني روزبه منتقل نمودند. از طرفي ديگر از تاريخ 28 خرداد ماه تاکنون که به دو بيمارستان رواني منتقل شده است به فرزند و خانواده اش اجازۀ ملاقات نداده اند. به گزارش خبرنگار مهر، آيت الله سيد احمد خاتمي گفت: عفاف از ويژگيهاي انساني، انسان است. در عالم حيوانات مقوله اي به نام حجاب وجود ندارد. افرادي که به حريم آن تعرض مي کنند و آن را ناديده مي انگارند، در اصل،هويت انساني شان مسخ شده و با حيوانات فرقي ندارند. (خبرگزاري مهر – 15/4/90)
