Dorsa Sobhani Arrested by Twelve Security Agents


Dorsa Sobhani, a member of the One Million Signatures Campaign and an activist for educational rights, was arrested by twelve security agents at her home on Sunday March 7, 2010. She was taken to an unknown location.

Before her arrest, at midnight on March 5, 2010, six security forces assaulted her family’s home in a search and confiscated [Dorsa Sobhani's] personal items. Additionally, according to Green Prisoners Sobhani was banned from pursuing education for her belief in the Baha’i faith.

On March 4, 2010, Dorsa Sobhani’s father was badly beaten and threatened by authorities. They informed him that if Dorsa was not turned in to the Ministry of Information by Saturday (March 6, 2010), then his wife and youngest daughter would also be arrested and their personal belongings would be confiscated.
