17 Kurdish Political Prisoners Sentenced to Prison or Death Identified

Jaras - Based on the reports received from news websites and human rights reporters, 17 of the Kurdish political prisoners who have received long-term prison sentences or who are on death row are currently held in the security ward of Evin prison.
According to Human Rights Actvists News Agency (HRANA), the 17 Kurdish political prisoners (four of them have received the death sentence) have been recently identified by human rights activists.
Their names and the sentence they have received are listed below:
• Zabir Vali Ali- eight years
• Jahangir Sohrabi- five years
• Satar Ghafouri- four years
• Sarun Yousefi- two years
• Hadi Amini- five years
• Ramezan Saeedi- eight years
• Abdullah Azarang – two years
• Matin Arjan – ten years
• Ramezan Ahmad – ten years
• Mohammad Sadegh Kaboudvand – ten years
• Ali Heydarian – ten years and death sentence
• Farzad Kamangar – death sentence
• Farhad Vakili – ten years and death sentence
• Shirin Alamhoei- death sentence
• Afshin Yavari- two years
• Mehdi Hamidi- five years
• Ali Mohamadi Moghadam- fifteen years
The report also states that some of the Kurdish political prisoners are held in limbo in solitary confinement in ward 209 (the security ward) of Evin prison and uncertainly surrounds their future.
Currently there are another 14 Kurdish political activists on death row who are held in various prisons in the western Iran region:

• Habib Latifi
• Shirko Moarefi
• Jamal Mohammadi
• Sami Hosseini
• Rostam Arkia
• Rashid Akhkandi
• Hossein Khezri
• Mostafa Salimi
• Anvar Rostami
• Mohammad Amin Agoushi
• Iraj Mohammadi
• Ahmad Pouladkhani
• Hassan Talei
Workers community assistant director with a positive assessment of governmental support of automobile industry, pointed out: “I wish such support would be expanded to all industries. And industries such as textiles, food, carpentry, skin and leather, and agricultural, and shoes would have been granted attention by statesmen and governments would not have such discriminative point of view toward industries.”
Sadeghi believes some statesmen’s of Iran’s industry is due to possible discomfort of Chinese by it.
