Ill jailed journalist , Mehdi Mahmoudian, denied treatment

The lung infection of Mehdi Mahmoudian, a jailed journalist, has deteriorated as a result of the pressures and tortures in prison and prison officials have still not given him treatment for his condition.
According to his mother, she went to see judiciary officials to file a complaint against prison officials.
"They (judicial officials) called me and my son liars and denied that he had any problems in prison", she said.
This is while, Mahmoudian had said in a phone call from prison that he has not received any treatment and according to a medic in the infirmary, he is losing one of his lungs due to the infection.
Mahmoudian has been detained in Evin Prison for more than seven months. He has been charged with disclosing (prison abuse) at the Kahrizak Detention Center.
