Iran arrests more than 10 mourners in memorial ceremony for slain daughter of opposition figure

Following a call by activists to hold a memorial service for Haleh Sahabi outside of the Hosseinieh Ershad [in Tehran], media sources have said that hours before the start of the service, security forces were stationed in the area and at least 10 people who intended to gather and light candles for Haleh Sahabi were arrested…
Eyewitnesses also said that security forces with cameras were stationed in all the streets leading the Hosseinieh Ershad, filming the events and people and that they had created an atmosphere of fear among the people.
According to this report, 10-15 women intending to participate in the service who were mostly between the ages of 40 to 60 were also arrested.

برقراري جو امنيتي و پادگاني در اطراف حسينيه ارشاد و بازداشت حداقل ده نفر

در پي فراخوان جمعي از فعالان جنبش سبز و جوانان احزاب اصلاح طلب جهت برگزاري مراسم گراميداشت هاله سحابي در مقابل حسينيه ارشاد، منابع خبري از برقراري جو امنيتي در ساعتها پيشتر در آن منطقه و متعاقب آن بازداشت دست کم ده نفر از افرادي که قصد تجمع و روشن کردن شمع در سوگ مرحوم هاله سحابي را داشتند، خبر مي دهند...

اين گزارش و همچنين شاهدان عيني خاطرنشان کردند که فيلمبرداران حکومتي و ماموران امنيتي، در تمام مسير و منطقه، در حال فيلم برداري از وقايع و افراد حاضر بوده و جو رعب و وحشت خاصي در منطقه حکمفرا شده است.

اين گزارش افزود " ده الي پانزده تن از بانواني که قصد حضور در مراسم را داشتند، و اكثر آنها بين چهل تا شصت سال سن داشته اند تا اين لحظه دستگير شده اند." (جرس – 14/3/90)
