Student activist sentenced to 7 years of prison and 74 lashes

Committee of Human Rights Reporters in Iran :
Tara Sepehri Far, the former Secretary of the Student Association of the Sharif Industrial University was sentenced to seven years of prison and 74 lashes. The Tehran Prosecutor has also confiscated the money surrendered to court to bail her out of prison.
The student activist’s case was seen to by the 26th branch of the Tehran Revolutionary Court headed by Judge Pir Abbasi. This is while even her lawyer was not informed of the trial and her sentence was issued in absentia.
According to the court ruling, Sepehri Far was sentenced to five years of prison on charges of ‘conspiring and assembling against the security of the country’, one year of prison on charges of ‘propagating against the government’ and another year of prison and 74 lashes on charges of ‘disrupting public order’. In addition to this, the bail money surrendered to court for her release in February 2010 was also seized.
Tara Sepehri Far was arrested after the post-election protests on February 9, 2010 and was released on a 50 million toman (about 50,000 dollar) bail after more than a month in prison.

محکوميت تارا سپهري فر به هفت سال زندان و هفتاد و چهارضربه شلاق و ضبط وثيقه‌ي او

کميته گزارشگران حقوق بشر- تارا سپهري‌فر٬ دبير سابق انجمن اسلامي دانشگاه صنعتي شريف٬ به ۷ سال حبس تعزيري و ۷۴ ضربه شلاق محکوم شد. همچنين دادستاني تهران وثيقه وي را نيز ضبط کرده است.

پرونده اين فعال دانشجوي در شعبه ۲۶ دادگاه انقلاب و به رياست قاضي پيرعباس مورد رسيدگي قرار گرفت. اين در حالي است که حتا وکيل وي نيز در جريان تشکيل چنين دادگاهي قرار نگرفته بود و حکم دادگاه به صورت غيابي صادر شده است.

براساس راي صادر شده٬ سپهري‌فر به اتهام «تباني و اجتماع عليه امنيت کشور» به ۵ سال حبس٬ به اتهام «فعاليت تبليغي عليه نظام» به يک سال حبس و به اتهام «اختلال در نظرم عمومي» به يک سال حبس و ۷۴ ضربه شلاق محکوم شده است. علاوه بر اين دادستاني تهران وثيقه‌اي که براي ازادي وي در اسفند ۸۸ سپرده شده بود را نيز ضبط کرده است.

تارا سپهري‌فر در اعتراضات پس از انتخابات در تاريخ ۲۰ بهمن ۸۸ بازداشت و پس از گذراندن بيش از يک ماه در زندان و چند روز مانده به عيد نوروز با توديع قرار وثيقه پنجاه ميليون توماني از زندن آزاد شد. (كميته گزارشگران حقوق بشر – 2/4/90)
