After hundreds of prisoner were killed and wounded in Qezelhesar Prison in Karaj by Special Guard Forces, there are reports of the critical state in this prison and an increase of the number of casualties.
According to reports, since yesterday morning, in addition to the cutting off of phone lines, the families of prisoners were not able to visit their loved ones despite having appointments from before. Even the daily leaves of all the prison staff has been cancelled and prison officials have not announced the identities of the killed and wounded prisoners.
This is while some unconfirmed reports say that the bodies of prisoner have been removed from the prison. In that case, there is a possibility that the security apparatus might secretly and arbitrarily bury the bodies…
The extensive attempts of the prison’s Protection Department and the security system to prevent the reports of the uprising and the massacre of prisoners from becoming public is to the extent that despite the high number of wounded prisoners who are in critical condition, officials have refused to take them to an outside hospital and have instead preferred to transfer them to the Rajayi Shahr Prison infirmary which has an operating room. Eyewitnesses have said that 2 of the injured prisoners who were transferred to Rajayi Shahr Prison died due to a lack of medical care and the severity of their wounds.
In the March 15 clashes in Qezelhesar Prison in Karaj, which ensued after prison officials intended to executed 10 prisoners, 150 prisoners were seriously wounded after prison guards used live bullets. From the 150 prisoners, 80 were killed or are in very critical condition. A number of other prisoners are suffering from hand and leg fractures or respiratory problems as a result of fires or tear gas.
Notably, according to a statement by the head of the Prison Organizations, Qezelhesar Prison houses 20,000 prisoners, 13,000 of which have been convicted of drug related charges. This is Iran’s largest prison and the most important problem prisoners face is the lack of space. According to this prison official, the prison holds ‘300 percent’ more prisoners than its capacity

گزارش تکميلي از کشتار در زندان قزلحصار و آخرين وضعيت اين زندان
در پي کشته و زخمي شدن صد‌ها تن از زندانيان در زندان قزلحصار کرج توسط ماموران گارد ويژه، گزارشات از شرايط بحراني در اين زندان و افزايش تلفات حکايت دارد.
بنا به اطلاع گزارشگران هرانا، ارگان خبري مجموعه فعالان حقوق بشر در ايران، از صبح روز گذشته علاوه بر قطعي خطوط تلفن زندانيان زندان قزلحصار کرج، خانواده‌هاي اين زندانيان علي رغم وقت قبلي موفق به ملاقات نشده‌اند. اين روند تاجايي ست که حتي مرخصي روزانهٔ تمامي پرسنل زندان نيز قطع شده و هيچ اطلاعاتي از سوي مسئولين زندان مانند هويت کشته‌ها و زخمي‌ها اعلام نمي‌شود.
همانگونه که اشاره شد تاکنون مسئولان زندان اسامي کشته شدگان را اعلام نکرده‌اند در حاليکه برخي گزارش‌هاي تاييد نشده حاکي از انتقال اجساد به طور مخفيانه به خارج از زندان است که در اين صورت امکان اين مهم وجود دارد که دستگاه امنيتي، به دفن خودسرانهٔ آنان مبادرت نمايد...
تلاش گستردهٔ حفاظت زندان و دستگاه امنيتي براي عدم انتشار گزارشات در رابطه با شورش در زندان و کشتار زندانيان در حدي است که با وجود تعداد بالاي مجروحين اين حادثه که بعضا وضعيت وخيمي نيز دارند، مسئولان از انتقال ايشان به بيمارستان امتناع کرده و ترجيح دادند آن دسته از مجروحين که داراي وضعيت وخيمي هستند؛ به بهداري زندان رجايي شهر کرج که داراي اتاق عمل است منتقل کنند. شاهدان عيني از جان باختن دو تن از مجروحين حادثه که به زندان رجايي شهر کرج منتقل شده‌اند به دليل شدت جراحات وارده و عدم دريافت خدمات پزشکي لازم گزارش مي‌دهند.
گفتني ست در درگيري‌هاي ۲۴ اسفندماه زندان قزلحصار کرج که در پي اعتراض به قصد اجراي حکم اعدام ده زنداني از سوي ساير زندانيان شروع شد، ۱۵۰ تن دچار جراحات جدي به خصوص در اثر استفادهٔ نيروهاي گارد زندان از گلوله‌هاي واقعي شدند که از اين تعداد ۸۰ تن کشته و يا وضعيت بسيار وخيمي دارند. تعداد بسياري از زندانيان نيز با ساير آسيب‌ها مانند شکستگي دست و پا يا زخم‌هاي سطحي و مشکلات تنفسي ناشي از آتش سوزي و همينطور استشمام بيش از حد گاز اشک آور روبه رو هستند.
لازم به يادآوري است بر اساس گفتهٔ رئيس سازمان زندان‌ها، زندان قزلحصار با داشتن ۲۰ هزار زنداني، که حدود ۱۳ هزار نفر از زندانيان ان را محکومان مواد مخدر تشکيل مي‌دهند، بزرگ‌ترين زندان کشور بوده و مهم‌ترين مشکل اين زندان به گفتهٔ وي، تراکم آن است که "۳۰۰ درصد" بيشتر از گنجايش در آن زنداني نگهداري مي‌شود.
