Sum up of Charchanbe soori protests : 15 March 2011

A collection of reports depicting a never ending protest that started in 2009 and is still ongoing, dispite sever and unique organized suppression involving tens and thousands of supressive forces mobilized from provinces into main cities:

Tehran- 15 march
Report from sources :

In Salsebil , suppressive guards used long metal batons and chains to scatter the crowd, and people were severely beaten up. In return a crowd took over the scene and fended the beatings off and clashes broke out for some time.

In Vali Asr and Haft e Tir , there were clashes between people and forces sent to beat up the crowd. Crowd chanted “Get lost you thugs” , “ Down with dictator”.

In Pardisan Park and Hemmat Highway there was a gathering and slogans against the guards who had chot into the crowd . They chanted “ I will kill, I will kill the one who killed my brother” (Mikosham, mikosham anke baradaram kost). This slogan related back to the 1979 uprising when the millions chanted the same to Shah’s police that fired into the crowd.
The amazing scene was the cluster almost organized of people in 50s which leapt forward, clashed with the guards and receded back without getting any one arrested.
Some people had set fire to the picture of Khamenei and people were dancing around it

Source by phone :
It was the usual or us. We tried hard to gather, and they tried hard to batt us off. Around 8pm we did get some time to start gathering and the amazing thing is that everyone else had done the same, as soon as we came to be 10, in a few moments lots of other people gathered. We started by opening up our fire and crackers. after a few moments a group of motor cascade elements rushed in with tear gaz and batons and even fired in air to scatter us.
One of the boys, who was not actually chanting like us and was dancing around the fire was attacked by a spray which brought him to the ground and a group of suppressive guards attacked him to take him away. The only thing for us was to throw a sound grenade we had prepared for fun. This worked and the group left in a hurry.

In another part of Shahrake Gharb , there was another gathering, which was also attacked by the guards and plain cloth thugs. There were at least 40 guards on motorbikes They also used tear gaz and some had pistols in their hands threatening to shoot directly at the crowd. But in any case they managed to disperse and come back till late in the evening.

In Jeihoon Avenue
People had gathered Chanting “Down with Dictator.” Crowd also came from the Karoon, Azarbaijan and Sattarkhan Avenues heading towards Behboudi Avenue. Along the way there was fire lit and youth used firecrackers to disperse suppressive guards.

Khoramabad-15 March
Source report :
After dusk, around 8 pm, we gathered in Shirkhah and others in GhaziAbad , Que sq. and Motahari. This was difficult since security force presence was like a swarm of bees and they were everywhere. I have sent a picture to show how abundant we were only in one corner of that area. We used sound grenades to fend off the suppressive squads that used batons and tear gaz. We carried our celebration any way.

Report :
There was a gathering in Takhti square. It was not long but , there were lit fires and sound grenades could be heard.

Rasht
Report :

In Golsar area lots of people gathered to celebrate the fire festivity as an anti-government act. The police who was not too far was hesitant to intervene, since the crowd was huge. The celebrations and sound grenades and some slogans were done for an hour or two.

In Motahari , as armed suppressive forces came to maneuver and show force , a couple of youth threw sound grenades and fire crackers in their path. This scared them and they left the area for some time.
We could hear chants of Down with dictator in scattered patterns.

Isfahan
People came to gather around the Karoun river. They were attacked most of the time by thugs in plain clots and chains, chanting “death to Monafegh”(mostly refereeing to banned political group Mojahedin) there were some clashes but the crowd would disperse and come back at another place.
Youth were dancing around fire on karoun and Si o Sepol bridges.
