According to a sentence announced by the 15th branch of the Revolutionary Court, Farzad Islami was sentenced to one year of prison for the crime of ‘spreading propaganda against the government’ by participating in an illegal gathering on October 13, 2009 in the Technical School of the Tehran Free University. This sentence has been suspended for three years.
Before this, Farzad Islami was sentenced to three semesters of suspension from education by the Disciplinary Committee on charges of inciting and encouraging students to participating in a gathering.

صدور حکم يک سال حبس براي فرزاد اسلامي دانشجوي دانشگاه آزاد تهران
بر اساس ابلاغ حکم شعبه 15 دادگاه انقلاب فرزاد اسلامي به جرم "تبليغ عليه نظام" از طريق شرکت در تجمع غيرقانوني 21 مهرماه 1388 در دانشکده فني تهران مرکز به يک سال حبس تعزيري محکوم که به مدت سه سال به حالت تعليق در مي آيد.
فرزاد اسلامي پيش تر از طرف کميته انضباطي دانشگاه تهران مرکز به اتهام تحريک و ترغيب و دانشجويان به تجمع به سه ترم تعليق محکوم شد. (هرانا – 13/4/89)
