Female political prisoner-Farah Vazham - sentenced to 15 years of prison

Farah Vazham who was arrested for (participating in) the Ashura protests was sentenced to 15 years of prison on charges of being a mohareb (waging war with God) by the 15th branch of the Revolutionary Court.
Vazham is currently in the public cellblock in Evin Prison and has been in ‘temporary detention’ for seven months. She was arrested two days after Ashura in her home on December 29.
This sentence which was issued by Judge Salavati was announced to her today.
She was charged with participating in the street protests and ‘waging war with God by cooperating with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran’. She had lived outside of Iran for years and only came back to Iran to be at the side of her 19 year old daughter who has cancer and is receiving chemotherapy

صدور حکم ١۵ سال حبس براي فرح واضحام از متهمان حوادث روز عاشورا

فرح واضحام از متهمين روز عاشورا از سوي شعبه ١۵ دادگاه انقلاب اسلامي به اتهام محاربه به ١۵ سال حبس محکوم شد.
فرح واضحام که هم اکنون در بند عمومي زندان اوين به سر مي‌برد حدود هفت ماه در «بازداشت موقت» بوده است. واضحام دو روز بعد از حوادث روز عاشورا در تاريخ ١٠ دي ماه ١٣٨٨ در منزل خود بازداشت شده بود.
به گزارش خبرنگار رهانا، اين حکم که از سوي قاضي صلواتي در شعبه ١۵ دادگاه انقلاب صادر شده است، امروز به وي ابلاغ شده است.
اتهام فرح واضحام شرکت در اعتراض‌هاي خياباني و «محاربه از طريق همکاري با سازمان مجاهدين» اعلام شده است. وي سال‌ها خارج از کشور زندگي مي‌کرده است و به خاطر دختر ١٩ ساله‌اش که به سرطان مبتلا است و شيمي درماني مي‌شود به ايران بازگشته است. (رهانا – 13/5/89)
