After the hunger strike of 17 political prisoners in Evin Prison and a gathering by their families outside the General Prison’s Office, security forces arrested a number of the their mothers and other family members which was met with protest from other families.
Security forces called the families of hunger striking political prisoners banning them from talking to the media and threatened that if they speak even a word to the media about the condition of prisoners, they will be arrested as soon as possible…
The news about the state of hunger strikers who are now in their 10th day of hunger strike has angered security institutions. This has led to threats over the phone to their families and attempts at trying to arrest the mothers of these hunger strikers in their homes.
It has been confirmed that security forces went to the homes of the families of political prisoner Majid Tavakoli and Hossein Nourani Nejad.
“They told me that they want me to stay silent and not talk to the media”, Majid Tavakoli’s mother said.
“I am a mother and have no other request other than to be informed about the health of my son in prison. They have told us that Majid is fine but does a two minute phone call for an ailing mother hurt them in any way that they have deprived me of this? I told them that I would not say anything and that I would wait to see if silence will better the conditions for my son who is on hunger strike”, she added.
According to reports, the Tavakoli family has also been threatened with arrest

نيروهاي امنيتي تهديد به بازداشت مادران اعتصاب کنندگان کردند
به دنبال اعتصاب 17 تن از زندانيان سياسي در اوين و پيوستن خانواده هاي اين زندانيان به آنها در مقابل اداره کل زندان ها، نيروهاي امنيتي اقدام به بازداشت مادران و برخي از اعضاي خانواده اين زندانيان کردند که با مقاومت ساير خانواده ها روبه رو شد.
گزارش جرس حاکي است، نيروهاي امنيتي طي تماس هاي تلفني با خانواده هاي اعتصاب کنندگان، آنها را از مصاحبه با رسانه ها منع کرده و تهديد کرده اند در صورتي که کلمه اي در مورد وضعيت زندانيان به رسانه ها بگويند در اولين فرصت نسبت به بازداشت آنها اقدام خواهد شد...
اطلاع رساني در مورد وضعيت اعتصاب کنندگان که تاکنون دهمين روز اعتصاب خود را پشت سر مي گذارند، خشم نهادهاي امنيتي را برانگيخته و منجر به برقراري تماس هاي تلفني تهديد آميز با برخي از اين خانواده ها و همچنين حضور در منزل برخي از آنان به منشور دستگيري مادران اعتصاب کنندگان شده اند.
خانواده مجيد توکلي و حسين نوراني نژاد از جمله کساني بودند که تا پيش از تنظيم اين گزارش، نسبت به تماس و حضور نيروهاي امنيتي در منزل آنها اطمينان حاصل شده است...
مادر مجيد توکلي نيز ضمن ابراز نگراني شديد به جرس مي گويد: به من گفته اند دلسوزانه از شما مي خواهيم تا سکوت کنيد و با رسانه ها مصاحبه نکنيد.
وي ادامه داد: من يک مادر هستم و جز اينکه از سلامتي فرزندم در زندان با خبر شوم درخواستي ندارم. به ما مي گويند مجيد حالش خوب است اما براي يک مادر بيمار دو دقيقه تماس تلفني مگر چه آسيبي به آنها مي رساند که همين را هم از ما دريغ کرده اند. به آنها گفته ام باشد من هيچ نمي گويم و منتظر مي مانم تا ببينم بعد از سکوت ما آيا وضعيت فرزندم که در اعتصاب است بهتر خواهد شد.
گفته مي شود خانواده مجيد توکلي هم تهديد به بازداشت شده اند. (جرس – 14/5/89)
