Forough Mirzaei´s Condition Unknown

Hossein Mirzaei, Forough’s brother said, “My sister has not contacted us for the past 16 days, and this makes us extremely concerned about her conditions.”

In conversation with ADVAR News, Hossein Mirzaei expressed that, “Currently the most important thing for us is Forough’s well being.” He added, “Our attempts for obtaining information and meeting with my sister had no results, and the interrogator has informed us that my sister and her husband are forbidden from meeting anyone.”

He continued, “Since her arrest, my mother has been waiting by the phone, waiting to hear her daughter’s voice. Given that my sister has always defended legal rights of students and political activists, it is most upsetting that she is now deprived of her own legal rights.”

Hossein Mirzaei also said, “What we understood from the past two weeks of visiting different judicial establishments, is that political cases of recent events have become marginalized and investigation of such cases are controlled by forces outside of the judiciary.”

Hossein Mizaei believes that since the events of Ashura, extremist forces are overriding judiciary standards. He expressed concerns that innocent people might become victims of extremists outside of the judicial establishment.
