A Kuwaiti Source: Regime officials and agents trying to flee Iran

Al-Seyassah, a Kuwaiti newspaper, has reported that some of the Iranian MPs as well as Intelligence officers have been trying to flee Iran to seek asylum in European countries.

The newspaper states:

Diplomatic sources in Brussels (home to the European Union headquarter) have disclosed to Al-Seyassah that high-ranking officials in the Iranian regime, particularly in Parliament, have been in talks with western officials about the possibility of seeking asylum in their countries. The sources contacted in London said that high-ranking Intelligence officials who fled Iran in recent years are in talks with European officials to seek asylum for their friends in Tehran to European countries, the USA , and Canada.
Al-Seyassah added that the sources confirmed that the government of Turkey refused the request of four Iranian Intelligence officials who were operating in Iraqi Kurdistan. These individuals wanted to travel to Europe via Turkey with the help of a Kurdish leader.

According to Al-Seyassah, the four officials were able to finally flee Norhtern Iraq and arrive in Italy.
